Best way to clean after removing a wall? Dust everywhere...

DH and FIL have removed an archway from our house this weekend (think seventies through lounge) and while they put down dust sheets, it doesn't seem to have made much of a difference.

Everything is covered in a layer of white dust. It's thick and made of sneezes.

I'm going to get some microfibre cloths on the way home from dropping dd at preschool and am thinking damp wiping is a good start? I need to remove it as opposed to moving it around.

Am I missing any tricks to make it easier/get it cleaner?

I'm boring myself with this thread if that helps at all?
