silver nail varnish on black suit trousers - any ideas?

I know, silver nail varnish was a stupid idea in the first place. But now I've dropped the bottle and got a splodge on my black Hobbs suit trousers (100% polyester). It has dried on. Don't think I'll be able to get a replacement pair and hate the thought of wasting my favourite jacket.

Should I try nail varnish or will that damage the fabric even more? Help!

I think I'd loosen it with nail varnish remover, then put them in as warm a wash as the label allows.

At the end of the day, they are unwearable now so I haven't got much to lose!
