how can I remove the scorch marks from le cresuet pan?

are the marks on the inside?
i'm sure my MIL said to put water and bicarb in it and leave it for a while.
bit vague, but think that was it.

A good housekeeping tip was to put biological washing powder in the bottom add very hot water and leave to soak (overnight if possible). The next morning the marks "should" lift off, using a wooden spoon to push at them if necessary.
