I need a very specific type of bed

I have a very small room that I would like to use as a spare room. It's up a very windy staircase, so anything big (think standard sofa bed) won't get up there. I have looked at various bed options - futon, inflatable bed etc but none of them particularly grab me. I think what I'm after is some kind of soft (i.e. no frame) fold out double bed that isn't overly long. If it's much more than 180cm long it just won't fit. I have tried searching online, but I don't really know what I'm looking for. A fold out cushion bed, I suppose...

If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful.

Why do you not just cut a foam materess to size, and keep it rolled up when not in use?

Like this?

or in natural or chocolate

would the extra 9cm make it a no go? could put two together and bung a blanket over the top to make into a double?

less thick but the right length?

we also have a tiny spare room and had to look into the same problem! the cube style ones are v uncomfortable as you end up with two massive hard seams in your back and bum.

(the muji one not as bad as some of the ones we looked at)

I used to have a futon from ikea, and it was surprisingly comfortable. The base part was flat, wooden slats so it was more comfortable than one with a metal frame with hard bars that dig through the mattress.

Ikea beds tend to be shorter too, I think?

Ikea beds longer ime

Thank you - some good ideas there, I hadn't thought of Muji.
