we have a large heavy rug in the bedroom and dd threw up on it in the night. breastmilk with a hint of sick...
the rug is too large for the washing mashine, so I tackled it with foam (washing up liquid).
how can I make sure that it doesn*t start to smell later?

Puppy spray works on most protein based stains and kills the smell.

Maybe but definately in a pet shop like Pets at Home. It's the stuff you use for puppy training.

I use bicarbonate of soda on sick, once have cleaned up, shake a liberal amount of bicarb over the affected patch. Leave for a while then hoover up, really helps to get rid of the smell.
