Left my clothes in the washing machine for too long

They are smelly now. When I realised, I put them on another wash, but they were no better. I've taken them out and am cleaning the washing machine.

So do I wait for the clothes to dry and then wash them again, or will they be ok going in the wash after it's finished cleaning?

I'm reluctant to leave them to dry because they'll stink out my bedroom.

Oh, I only have non-bio in the house as well.
Thanks

Use a cup of white vinegar in the fabric conditioner drawer.

Can you wash them on a 60 degree setting?

MrsChemist · 29/01/2011 19:18

I don't have any White vinegar left. I chucked it all in to clean the machine Sad

I can wash some on 60, but there was a wool jumper in there too

I'd get them washed again straight away, I think. A second wash usually does it for me. Agree you should wash as hot as the labels allow.

I have been known to wash a single load five times, because I keep forgetting it again.

I have a cheap box of bio powder in the house specially for the times that i forget about the washing in the machine!! The kids and dp all have sensitive skin so i wash it in bio, then rewash it with non-bio, with an extra rinse. Always gets rid of the foustyness!!

Use brown malt vinegar then - it doesn't matter - just rewash afterwards.

I'm washing it again now. I also realised that I had jammed the machine full, so I've divided it into two.

Thanks for the help everyone

Glad there's someone as bad as me at washing dearprudence. I can easily take a week to do one load, and then I wonder why I have mountains of washing Hmm
