Bedside table dilemma

Ok, so our lovely new bed has been delivered.

We are really pleased and can now bonk again without teenage dcs saying "Oh God, you're not doing jiggy-jiggy in there are you?"

(The old bed used to creak and groan under the slightest pressure and the mattress was so thin that we had thicker slices of ham in the fridge.)

We have chosen a lovely divan with a really thick mattress. I am just surprised how high it is!

Our old bedside tables look so small and silly next to it.

The bed and tables are about the same height.

How high should a bedside table be compared to the bed?

I am also struggling to find reasonably priced bedside tables anyway, so any advice would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Ok - I know it's a knicker-clenchingly boring thread, but I could really do with some advice ......

I reckon some of it is what you are used to. So you may get used to lower bedside tables in time.

As you asked, I reckon a bedside table should be about 1-2 inches higher than the mattress. But that's probably cos that's what mine are currently.

HTH

PS Grin at "jiggy-jiggy".

I have a simple small table by the bed- a little lower than the bed itself just incase jiggey jiggy arms where to fall of the bed and hurt on any bedside table object ro get knocked off

Our bedside tables are the same height as the mattress, i would prefer higher tho as i have often knocked off my glass of water during the night.

Thanks for your replies.

Sounds like I'll just get used to it.

I'll be to busy doing jiggy-jiggy to notice I hope!
