Have I killed my dishwasher?

Stupidly put a load of washing powder into the DW salt compartment, so can't scoop it out or, er, owt.

Anyone know what I should do? Should I be trying to flush the powder out?

Thank you in advance!

Could you pour lots of water into the salt compartment to force the powder out (or dilute it) so that you can then scoop the soapy water off the bottom of the DW?

GlynistheMenace · 26/01/2011 21:23

you won't have killed it

i think you should leave before it feels abused

I agree with Glynis. You won't have killed it but you should do the right thing and leave home. Tag a note to said dishwasher's door explaining your mishap and post your keys through the letterbox.

Honestly......I would flush the salt out, if it is filled with water (like mine is) or hoover it out if you are a goddess like Glynis.

Stir it with a stick whilst syphoning it would logically keep it agitated enough to syphon out the lot, surely?

Hellebore1 · 27/01/2011 08:59

I would try and get most of it out by whatever method syphoning etc and then run a few 'rinse only' programmes. Good Luck Hellebore1

Obviously Wink I took all your good advice and left home rinsed it out as much as possible. Seems to be OK.

Thank you,
