Hi all

Need some advise, to cut long story short both work fulltime with two kids and housekeeping is slacking - kids are in clean clothes but dust is building and never dusted skirting boards... and mother in law is coming to stay this weekend to look after dc's whilst we go away for work.

I have a cleaner booked for Wednesday moring for four hours and they have asked for a list of things I was specially done ?????

I just want is clean - do you think cleaning the glass on the inside doors is special, or mirrors? Not sure what to ask for and how much can be done in four hours - it is just common rooms, no bedorooms - advice please?????

It is listed as a deep clean so I think I can just leavae them to it - I was just worried about the special job request :)

If you (for e.g.) especially want the glass on your patio doors down, or your skirting washed down then mention it, otherwise, just let them get straight through I reckon

Make sure the floors are totally clear if you can, even if it is just dumped into a box in the garage as it will let them get loads more done.

I'm a cleaner and often do one off cleans for 3-4 hours.

In a typical 3 bed house in 4 hours I would:

Hoover every floor
Dust all surfaces
Clean all surfaces in kitchen including tiles, sink, cupboard doors, handles, cooker.
Clean all windows in every room
Clean inside and out of all toilets, clean baths/showers/tilesin bathroom.
Clean all mirrors and picture frames.
Wipe all doors and frames if finger marks on etc...
Wash all wooden floors and bathroom/toilet/kitchen floors.

I would also hoover under beds and sofas.

I enjoy it (have ocd tendencies Blush )

It does depend on clutter and toys etc.... It can take a lot longer if things have to be moved and tidied Grin
