has anyone used Chemdry for carpet cleaning or can recommend a good service in Edinburgh?

Not sure about your area, but if you have an HSS Hire Shop near you, I really recommend hiring a carpet cleaner. I did it this summer, and it was about £25 (inc VAT), plus carpet shampoo, for 24 hours. It did a good number on a stupid beige carpet.

Hope this helps!

I just used the Chemdry based in Fife (we are just outside Edinburgh). They weren't cheap at all, but have done an amazing job, carpets do pretty much look like new - one was so awful that I almost didn't bother getting it cleaned, but it's come up looking perfect. The smell wasn't great, but I left the windows open and it went in a few hours.

That sounds better than our clean, I must say.

cheers for all the advice, going to give Chemdry a go.
