Cleaning Roman Blinds

How can I clean Roman Blinds? They are made of linen and lined. The dry cleaners said that I would need to take out the wooden rods (easy) and also the metal eyelets for the blind cord. Can I steam clean and if so, would I still need to take off the metal eyelet things?
Thank you!

I'm bumping this - because I'm asking the same question!

Has anyone stem cleaned Roman blinds?

The steam would make some types of fabric shrink, dry cleaning would be better.

Taking the eyelets off should be easy enough if you use a quick un pick thing, if you tried a different dry cleaners they may charge a bit extra but dry clean and sew the rings back on for you?

What kind of fabric is it? Any cotton rich mix or similar could shrink with steam and your only option would be to hoover them only. Dry cleaning could be the only option I think
