I think we've had/got an unwanted visitor in the built-in cupboard under our bathroom sink. The waste pipework from the sink runs through a gap in the wall into the void behind the plasterboard (tile hung) and the opening is wider than the pipes, so assume it has climbed up via there. Any ideas as to how we can seal this up ? Previously have only seen one going through dislodged pointing at ground level.

I always use wire wool to bung up any gaps I am suspicious of as they can't chew through that... but you need to consider how they are getting in from the outside - and if you seal up any holes are they likely to die somewhere inside which will smell lovely!

We have a mouse in out garage. He has chewed his way into the bag of guinea pig food as well as the lid on the bird food bin. The cat is oblivious Grin.

Waves to Fab... haven't seen you for ages, how are you doing? (assuming you are the Fab I'm thinking of of course!)

Have you name changed???

I am okay, thanks. Lots of crap to work through but getting there.

Decorhate · 20/01/2011 20:39

Can't remember when I last namechanged...

Are you still having counselling to work through it all? Hope it is helping...

IAmReallyFabNow · 20/01/2011 20:52

No it has finished.

Hmm dh has "investigated" and cleaned the cupboard out. Reckons it must have been a little while ago ... I'm not so sure.

This got so bad in our old flat we called a pest controller and for 200 the wrongest man ever turned up and totally ridded our place of mice. He put down a million child proof mouse poisoners and we never saw em again. Best 200 ever spent.

Anyway... he told us to make 'sandwiches' of that expanding foam stuff and small hole wire mesh. So that's a layer of expanding foam, a piece of wire mesh, and more expanding foam. Apparently they chew through most things except the mesh.

Good luck!
