Last April we had new carpet fitted on our stairs, landing and bedrooms.(got it from a well- known carpet retailer, rhymes with market night). By about Christmas it had started to look decidedly manky; you would have thought we had got it fitted 8 years ago, not 8 months before.
The tread on the stairs has gone, it looks totally worn out. I called them last week and explained that I was concerned that it was wearing so badly. They are sending a surveyor to look at the stairs tomorrow. We are two adults, a baby and a cat. Surely the stairs shouldn't be worn out already? I am tempted to hide the cat so they don't blame her. I am fairly house proud but haven't hoovered that much that it would be worn out!
I just have a feeling that they will try to get out of replacing the carpet because I know that make has been discontinued. I know because we ordered some carpet for downstairs from the same company and had to order a similar type. If the stairs need to be replaced then the whole of the upstairs will need to be replaced too. I could really do without it to be honest, moving furniture is a total pita. Has anyone had similar problems with this carpet company and any advice please? ( apart from get a life). Thanks for reading.
