shoe storage solution

Hi,

i can't stand all the shoes everywhere at the bottoms of the cupboards anymore. Can anyone suggest a clean and not too ugly storage solution for shoes?

My mum buys clear plastic shoe boxes from Lakeland for each pair of her (many, many) shoes and stacks them in the bottom of her wardrobe.
My dd has a hanging shoe storage from Hippo in her wardrobe. It is fine for the few pairs of shoes a 9 year old has but probably wouldnt do for lots and lots of pairs.
We have tried racks in the bottom of ours but they take up quite a lot of space and don't store loads.
We have a simple shoe rack shelf in the vestibule. Again it takes up a lot of space but does seem a bit tidier.
