...and wondering if anyone has one of those rechargeable sweepers (GTech)? Are they any good? Do they work on laminate, tiles and carpet? I'm thinking it might be a good alternative to hoovering every 10 mins because DS has covered the floor in crumbs and/or is eating sock fluff off the carpets?

When ds was a toddler we had a one of those rechargable vac things that goes on your kitchen wall ( name escapes me) I know the things you mean on QVC and doubt they are any good. Mind you, there is always their stupidly overpriced postage and packing wonderful 30 day back gaurantee Wink

I have a sweeper - this one and it is BRILLIANT on everything

I bought one from qvc years ago, still use it daily as i have carpet in our kitchen and i'm a messy cook!, love it!

I didn't order it, but I think I am definitely going to get one... Are they relatively quiet, could you 'sweep' once the baby has gone to bed?

Oh yes, quieter than a hair dryer, quieter than a blender and MUCH quieter than a regular vacuum cleaner- maybe the noise level of one of those hand blenders you use to make soup?

They have some really good value ones in Argos which is what all my neighbours bought after they saw mine from Coopers.

I think Argos also do the Gtech ones?

I have one and it's great. So light and not having a wire (only for charging) it can go anywere. You don't have to bend with it so it's great for my back when compared with using a dustpan and brush for small crumbed areas. Good for getting up glass too.

We have one from Lakeland which was cheaper than the gtech one and it's fab. Really quiet and easy just to whip out when it's needed.
