Wash care for lunar Jim costume

Hi - I picked up a lunar Jim suit (by ladybird) second hand. It's got a light panel that doesn't come out... I'm wondering if a hand wash will be okay... Anyone else got one?thanks :)

I have one and just put it in the machine. The lights were on their way out anyway so wasn't bothered if they broke. I think a hand wash would be fine.
