what do you do with unwanted soft toys?

I've managed a large cull, most of which are in good conditions so I'd be happy for someone else to use them, but I don't think charity shops accept them any more.
Anyone have any good ideas what to do with them?
Thanks

school fayres or freecycle?

emsyj · 01/01/2011 18:02

Have seen lots advertised on my local free cycle and they seem to get taken quickly.

Some charity shops still do accept them - maybe ask?

JarethTheGoblinKing · 01/01/2011 18:15

Both our local hospice charity shops still take them, I checked recently. Must get on with that cull...

I volunteered at Barnardo's for about a year, and they take them. I saw them for sale at Sense too, so try there? There are always loads brought in after Christmas, and they tend to go quickly, especially the nice bears and things.

Thanks everyone. There is a Barnardo's not too far away so I'll ask in there. There's also a Scope 10 mins in the other direction so will try both.
Good to know that they are picked up by people as well. Thanks JoinScotland.

Unfortunately they do take them, I went into Help the Aged with DD yesterday with DD to drop off a big bag of clothes and came out with yet another enormous teddy bear Hmm.

Women's Aid? for their Refuge shelters?

Lots of the children who end up there leave home with hardly a toy of their own.

GiraffeAHolic · 01/01/2011 20:22

I was a manger at Scope and we took them as long as they weren't homemade
