Cheap plates

We need every day plate set. We have an expensive plate set hardly ever used and a very chipped and now missing lots every day set. I have some spare IKEA plates but I would love a new but cheap matching plates - side plates/bowls/large plates. Where are the cheapest/nicest and easily replaceable plates. Pre-schoolers now want to use proper plates so thats why cheap is best!

I bought a set of plain white ones in Wilkos for a fiver last week - 4 each of dinner plates, side plates and bowls. Not bad at all for that price!

I have these although they were £12 when I bought them a couple of months back. Exact same reasons as you, sick of mismatched plates but didn't want to use the best ones. I bought two sets and have one in reserve for breakages :)

Not what you are asking Fiddledee but if you want to replenish your expensive set or sell what is left of it have a look at Chinasearch. They buy and sell pieces of dinner services so that people can top up their sets when things get damaged.

How cheap where you thinking? Tesco have some half price sets, I noticed them when I was in there yesterday, they had some churchill sets, I think £7.50, and a denby set for £37.50.

Argos have got some of there plate sets buy one, get one free. So about £15/20 for 8 place settings.

We have plain white every day stuff from Sainbury's. It is reduced periodically, which is when I top up.

Love my china thats carrot and plan to keep it and use it a bit more when kids are a bit older. Wow rockin those plates are cheap will look at Next. Thought M&S maybe as well. Not that near a Wilkos and no parking near the shop.

We use a M&S set every day and it has been fantastic. We have had it for 4 years and still no problems.
Before we got it we got a Next one but I returned it as nearly every plate had flaws or bubbles in it. I don't know if we were just unlucky.
M&S often do 3for2 deals etc which minimises the cost.
Keep an eye on chinasearch when you want to complete your damaged set Fiddledee. A friend of mine used it and was sooo happy to complete the service she inherited from her Grandmother.

Sainsbo's had got half price plain white sets this morning - I think they were a tenner.

Oh and House Of Fraser had lots and lots of individual pieces reduced yesterday, though I didn't see any boxed sets.

This Denby set is half price (under £20) & really very nice in the flesh.
