vacuum cleaner smellies - what work?

Just wondered can you add anything nice to give a natural whiff as mine seems to be blowing smelly air?

any solid air freshener will work (magic tree, tablets etc)

Change bag or empty it then put a cotton wool ball with some drops of essential oil (fir balsam or pine is good) placed in the bag or dust collecting bit.

what about a Dyson?? any ideas? My upstairs one smells of coffee whenever I use it. don't know why b/c haven't sucked up any coffee with it and have also cleaned the bucket and filters... Asked for it to be serviced and the guy said it was ok and he couldn't smell anything the matter!
