i seem to end up with alot of handwashing. things like daughter's playsuit, as well as jumpers. do you tend to use the handwash cycle on the machine or literally handwash?

i do the latter as my old machine tended to shrink the jumpers. have a very new Siemens and wondered if it would be ok to use the cycle especially on handwash delicates as oppose to wool

machine, with low spin and special delicate detergent.

Having water too hot is usual cause of shrinking jumpers.
With a modern machine, it should be safe, as dikkertjedap suggests ; I'd try a machine wash.

I have never handwashed in my life! machine wash on a low temperature and a short spin

Machine wash on the handwash cycle all the way!
