Mysterious marks on clothes after washing

Mysterious marks keep appearing on DPs clothes after washing.

Looks like a watermark.

In this winter things generally go straight from washer to condensor dryer.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Does he work with chemicals; maybe solvents?

JamieLeeCurtis · 20/12/2010 03:10

Do you use tumble dryer sheets? The marks could be an oily residue from the sheet

Is there too much soap in the wash?

Titsandteeth · 20/12/2010 03:29

Conditioner marks? Do you use fabric conditioner? Sometimes it can leave marks on the fabric.

No chemicals or tumble dryer sheets used so can't blame them.

Yes possible soap/conditioner over load. I need to scrub the seal and clean detergent drawer.

Not got any soda crystals and was thinking of doing a very hot wash to clean machine. What else could I use?

Vinegar. I read this tip recently. Obviously don't use too much!

Thank- have resigned myself to the fact I will need to go shopping later. So what's the best thing to get?

Service it? White vinegar? Soda crystals?

I had this once and it was because I was using the quick wash which didnt rinse properly, when I switched back to the main wash the marks stopped.

dietcokesholidaysarecoming · 20/12/2010 07:37

Not using quick wash but it may be a rinsing issue then. Will pay special attention to not overloading and may stop using fabric conditioner again.

Does you machine have an extra rinse button, may be worth checking that.

dietcokesholidaysarecoming · 20/12/2010 07:43

Will have a look- think so- just generally try to save water but certainly worth a try as clothes are getting ruined.
