Mould in washing machine seal?

Our 2 year old washing machine seems to leave a bit of water in the rubber bit around the door at the end of a wash. Over time, mould has grown there Shock. I need to get up the energy and overcome my morning sickness to give it a good scrub, but once I have done that, is ther any way of stopping it happening again? Has this happened to anyone else? I always leave door and tray open btw.

You need to do boil wash with biological powder but no clothes in.

Should do this every couple of months to stop it happening again.

Ah, thanks, will have to buy some bio stuff as always do clothes in non-bio. Have scrubbed it and just running a hot wash with soda crystals.

I always do a 90' wash every week with a blanket that the cat sits on in it plus a sterilizeing tablet in with it.

If you do a boil wash with bio powder aren't you denaturing the bio enzymes? I always thought bio wash was for cooler temperature?
