Sunflower oil spilt on carpet, please help!

I knocked the oil I was using to massage my baby all over the living room carpet. Have tried using the Vax on it but no luck, fear I might have made it worse by drying it in. Is there anything (bar buying a very large rug) I can do?

Thank you. I think it might be a bit late for the blot with alcohol technique having already scrubbed it with the vax, but hadn't even entered my head it might be covered by insurance. Will check, would claiming be likely to put up our premium?

It shouldn't put up your premium if you haven't made many claims. Carpet comes under contents insurance.

It's funny, we pay through the nose for insurance, but rarely think about claiming unless burgled or the house burns down!
