are they hard wearing -- do they wash easily ?...easy to iron or not .... ie practical?...where can you buy them cheaply?...and what is the difference in cost/benefit between the diff "threadcounts"?

  1. I haven't had mine very long so can't answer about wearing
  2. washing is easy, but they do come out a bit crumpled, but
  3. I never iron anything
  4. good prices IME at Matalan, TK Maxx & TJ Hughes
  5. higher thread-count = silkier touch but possibly shorter life (can't answer that - see 1) again!)

So far I think mine are wonderful Smile much nicer than ordinary cotton

OldieButBaddie · 14/12/2010 16:19

They are softer and cooler
Don't get sateen ones as they bobble

Had mine for ages and they wash well.
Wouldn't know about ironing as my dh does it!

We got ours in sales. if you can hang on til after Xmas you can get good bargains.

Go for as high a thread count as you can afford. Ours are high (not sure exactly how high) and seem to have lasted well - 6 years and still going strong.
