hi,
we are away for about 10 days during the christmas hols, and I have no idea if I should be turning the water off at the stop cock (wherever that migth be) or not, should I leave on the heating a wee bit, or not?
REally don't want to come back to burst pipes or anything.
Ta!

Water on, heating on low.
If you start turning the stopcock and it hasn't been moved in years you might have some plumbing problems later down the line.
If pipes do freeze, heat then gently with a hair dryer (not boiling water) to help prevent them bursting.
