Is there anyone who uses a dehumidifier in their home?

Hi there, I live in a Victorian converted flat and I find that our original single glazed windows are constantly getting condensation particualary in the colder months. I'm sick of not being able to see out!
So I bought a dehumidifier in October (DeLonghi) which transformed my flat - no condensation was amazing. Now that it's a lot colder it doesn't seem to work as well the red light comes on a lot which means it's pausing as the temperature isn't warm enough for it to work.... :(

Don't suppose anyone else has this problem or knows anything that might help?

Thanks for reading and tia

Turn the heating up if you can may be the only way forward!

We have had horrendous condensation problems in this house, and also in a flat we live in a few yrs back. Both Victorian.

If the dehumifier is giving up you can try

  • turning heating up
  • opening windows a crack every morning for a couple of hrs
  • clearing the condensation each morning either with a cloth (old baby muslin works well) or get a brill gadget from Karcher which is a cross between a window squeegee and a handheld vacuum (try amazon or ebay) - this is the saviour of our windows in the winter. Does not work if windows are iced inside though!
