carpet and upholstery cleaners

Can anybody recommend a good one. it will be used more on upholstery but occasionally on carpet.

we used 1001 carpet spray thingy for when ds was still a sicky baby and was on the purees.

if it can get carrot puree out a cream wool carpet it can shift anything! :)
