cleaning a diamonte necklace

Is it possible to make an old diamonte necklace sparkle again? I've tried washing it in hot water with fairy liquid but the metal still looks discoloured.

You don't say what the necklace is made of. If the metal looks discoloured unless it's silver it won't just be tarnished, quite often the problem is that the plating has faded. You may find a jewellers who is willing to rhodium plate the necklace for you, but you will probably be looking at around £20 min for this so depends if it's worth it to you. May be best off just buying a new one unless it's very sentimental. If it's just a base metal plated with silver a lot of jewellers won't do any sort of repairs to this. Xxx
