recommendations for built-in ovens

DH was using the oven today and black smoke billowed out of it when he used the fan function. It is a horrible AEG built in double oven (installed by the previous owners), which I hate as it takes forever to heat up and the main oven can't take anything bigger than a medium sized chicken!

Do any Mnetters have any recommendations for a new built in oven? I don't mind if it's a single or a double oven (by double I mean a separate top oven/grill and bottom oven- not too experienced on cooker terminology), but please no AEGs or gas ovens.

thanks, and oven rants welcome!

i have a new candy double oven built in with a ceramisc hob elsewhere in the kittchen its bloody great still getting to grips with it as with any new appliance dh makes and fits kitchens and he did ours and appearently candy is a good brand hope that helps Smile ooh and with nine they gave me special shelves tht youc can slot baking/grill pans underneath... not 100% sure what they are really for but they keep the bottom of my oven clean as all the mess goes into them and i just have to take them out and stick n the dishwasher

I have a Bosch single oven (they seemed to be the biggest capacity John Lewis had) with, above it to give a double oven effect, tho they are 2 separate appliances, a Bosch oven/grill/microwave combination thing. Both are great. I could easily manage with just the big bottom one.

Thanks for that- I think I will go in John Lewis and ask them what would fit in the space. DH interested in the Bosch one so am glad it has been good for you Lizzy.

Mothersmilk, thank you too for the Candy recommendation and I shall see if JL do that too. I would go to a local shop but they told me I wouldn't be able to get it in before Xmas.
