Help! How do I get rid of the smell of burning?

Thought I would be clever and microwave the salt dough, Kirstie style, but overdid it a bit and it caught fire :)
The house stinks. Is there something I can do quickly to get rid of the stink?

white vinegar.

leave bowls of white vinegar out overnight to absorb the smells.

you could also try spraying vinegar diluted with water into the air, or soaking a tea towel in vinegar and water then wringing it out and swishing it about above your head (sounds loopy but quite effective!)

vinegar is brilliant at absorbing smells, the vinegar smell soon evaporates so the house shouldn't smell like a chippy for long.

The dog now thinks I am completely mental, walking around the house flapping a tea towel. I can't smell smoke, only vinegar - the test will be when hubby gets home...
Thanks again ceres.

i had a mini fire accident too because of bloody salt dough and the microwave. i blame the internet tho as i hadn't seen kirstie do it.

Glad to be of help!

i'm a vinegar fanatic - i get through gallons of the stuff, i use it for cleaning and instead of fabric softener.
