How do I clean the grill and ceiling in my oven?

I have cleaned the racks and the inside of the oven with good old Oven Pride (love the stuff). However I'm not sure how to clean the grill and the top of the oven.
Can any of you wise women help?

INeedALieIn I have cleaned my oven door with Cif cream. It worked a treat. The whole oven is sparkling apart from my yucky grill and ceiling!

You get someone in to do it..... don't you?

but how do they do it nocake?!!? (I can smell when my grill goes on from where ever I am in the house).

I don't know and I don't care. He arrives, I give him a cup of tea then close the kitchen door and leave him to it.

I think we paid about £90 for a 5 ring gas range with two ovens and a grill. I can't remember which company it was but there are a number of franchises and I haven't heard bad things about any of them.

thats quite reasonable. I only have a single oven with four gas rings (shite oven came with rental flat) so should be easy and cheap enough. I will enquire :)

nocake, do they clean the glass door too? Our glass is filthy, but on the inside of the two glass panels, if that makes any sense. I think something spilled and got in there ages ago. The inside of the oven is cleaned relatively regularly, but the door irritates me so much that I would have bought a new oven if I had money lying around!

You can normally unscrew the glass and then go over it will a damp cloth and sprinkle barcarbonate of soda over it. Leave it over night and the next morning it should just scrape off.
