Dyson DC25 - are they any good?

We need a new vacuum cleaner. We've got a big house, wood floors, slate floors and carpet. We've got 2 kids and a cat to clean up after! Would the DC25 be a good one to get?

i never really got on with my dyson - now have an henry and find it excellent

We bought a miele recently on advice received here. Most would tell you not to touch a dyson.
