Help me clean my iron plate....please

I've just got a new iron and have not quite got used to the heat settings etc. I ironed my sons blue school jumper today and ironed it too hot so now have a blue fuzziness to my iron hot plate. Does anyone have any cleaning suggestions?

Lakeland sell a tube of iron cleaning stuff which is very good, I've used it for years, a tube lasts ages.
