My breville clear boil kettle has cracked all up the side, leaked all over the base unit and blown up Hmm so i need to buy a new one :(

My new kettle will need to be cordless and going to last well as i have a greedy baby on formula and a yorkshire tea addiction so its on 24/7 lol. My kettles dont seem to last longer than 2 years, is this normal?

Only have a small budget really as almost xmas. Can anyone recommend a good one that doesnt cost the earth? TIA

Hello. This thread is a little old now and some of the recommendations may be out of date. Take a look at our round-up of the best kettles - according to Mumsnetters - for more up-to-date suggestions. MNHQ.

Which Breville did you have? My White Lightning gave up the ghost on Sunday and I was more devastated than I care to admit :( And it was £40 so couldn't afford the same one again.

I went with this one in the end and it seems fine (for the 3 or 4 cups of tea we made last night...it's early days!)

Ah sod it, don't think link is working. Argos, Kenwood white stainless steel (?) kettle. £16 or thereabouts, reduced from £24.

It was a breville blue ice jug kettle, the clear ones that light up blue. Thought it looked nice at the time but disappointed its only lasted about 18ths :( it was £50 from john lewis, cant afford that again lol

Yer i can see it from your link haha, think my nan has that one and hers is never off so might be worth it Grin Cant believe some kettles are almost £100 and dont look too different Shock
