my lounge/ living room looks really grey and dim at night, need help to sort out lighting. the room is not too big, has wooden parquet flooring and most of the furniture is shades of dark brown. walls ae magnolia coloured. used to have 2 pendant lights (single bulb) which we replaced with 3 bulb light fittings in an attempt to make it look bright...so total of 6 bulbs now. still looks dim and depressing :( we use energy saving light bulbs. dont have wall sockets so cant put in wall lights without getting an electrician in. so is putting floor lamps round the room the answer? will mean me trudging round everyday to put them on, and then again to put them off though. any suggestions for floor lamps, that arent too £££? can i put white bulbs with higher wattage in the ceiling lights, or is that a 'no-no'?
