Silk tie crisis.

DH bought a new tie. He left it in the carrier bag and I cput it in the bin.

Covered in food crap.

Hot foot it to dry cleaner, soak in cold water or put back in bin.

Warm water, non-bio liquid detergent. See what comes off, squeeze flat in a dry towel. Might end in disaster though.....!

You can get silk tie cleaners from M&S... but this sounds like too big a job, as I believe they're just spot cleaners.

Make him take it to be cleaned (willing to bet he just buys another)

I hand washed it in the end. It is still drying.
