Hey, Sorry if I'm being dim, but is a queen sized bed the same as a 'small double'? tia x

I didn't think the term was used in the UK. In the US a Queen is a big double (5'), what we'd call a kingsize here. Which isn't very helpful, you'd better ask for dimensions

Sizes explained here

A UK King (60" x 78") sized bed is the same width but slightly shorter than the US Queen (60 x 80) size.

A double (54 x 75) UK bed is the same as a US 'Full or Double'.
