have burnt my carpet...

Hi,

I should start by saying this is all my fault. I was taking some curtains up with sticky tape. It was easier doing it on the floor, so I ironed the curtains and didn't think to put some towel underneath. Now I have a 1"x3" line of slightly burnt carpet to show for it. Great!

It doesn't look obviously burnt, it's more as it there was a wet patch on the carpet, but it is in the middle of the room so can't put anything on top to hide it.

I suppose there is nothing I can do now short of recarpeting, but the rest of the carpet looks fine and it seems such a shame to have to go to so much expense.

Any ideas?

If a rug won't cover it then maybe house insurance?

You can cut the piece out and replace it with a piece of carpet you had left over, or that is under some furniture that you are unlikely to move.

I'm more intrigued with you taking the curtains up with sticky tape

Sorry no help but a bump for you

Re taking up curtains with sticky tape, what I meant was that hemming tape, whatever it's called. The type you iron on. Not Sellotape, obviously...
