removing toddler snot from woollens?

Any tips? All my jumpers have delightful snot epaulettes on the shoulders which don't seem to wash out.

If I use the woollens program they turn white and become more visible and if I use a cottons program the jumpers shrink. I've even tried stain devil, but without success.

Help, please.

Have you tried handwashing?

Shock no. Washing by hand? in this day and age?

Yes, I suppose I could, but I am very, very lazy...

what are the jumpers made of? if they're cashmere it would be better to hand wash those corners. There used to be a special hand-wash liquid soap in the UK but I cannot remember its name. Maybe you could just hand wash the snot areas before putting in the woollens prog?
