as i have scrubbed, vanishes and hot washed them and they're still dirty

I have same problem with ds1's white polo shirts for school. Tried all sorts of stain remover and nothing works. I have now taken to soaking them in a weak bleach solution. Then I give a good rinse in washing machine followed by wash. It's probably not 'the done thing' to do this and maybe someone else can suggest a better solution for us, but I have found it works on the stains. Not sure of the long term effect on the fabric because I stick to the cheap shirts then replace them each term.

Is your washing machine working properly?

A 65 degree wash with standard washing powder and occassional Vanish does ours fine.
