How to remove wax from...every sodding where

DH blew out a candle on the mantlepiece before he went to bed last night and I've just noticed that the mirror, a couple of vases, the painted wall, a wooden photoframe, another couple of candles and the mantle are all covered in a spray of dark red wax. Nice.

What's the best way to get it off? Very hot damp cloth? Just endless picking?

ice cube on the wax then pick off the worst.

Thanks. Some of the spots are very thin. I'll tell dh to get picking.
