removing dog pee from (new) carpet?

Does anyone know what the best way to remove dog pee from carpet is, so as to minimise staining?

In the past, I have just rubbed with fairy liquid/water - but it has never really worked v well. Now have a brand new carpet and really want to try and remove this stain as best I can ... any tips would be welcome.

soda water to neutrilise (Is that how you spell it?)as soon as possible then 10001

Go to Pets at Home or similar- they do a specific cleaner for pee.
