Dark coloured carpets in direct sunlight- do they fade?

I'm thinking about getting a dark brown carpet for the living room but it's in direct sunlight during the day. The sofa has faded so I am worried that a dark brown carpet would fade too and look rubbish.

Would the carpet fade too?

Don't know if they all do, but I know for sure that some do.
