Cleaning a wool rug ?

Any advice appreciated :)

I have a shaggy wool rug in my living room its become a bit smelly not helped by the fact my mums cat decided to do its business on it :(

Anyone have any advice how to get it smelling fresh again I have cleaned bits of it, it just smells abit grubby :(

I have a wool rug and tried and tried to get an accident out of it but it just smelt worse and worse. I even hired a cleaner, bought stuff recommended on here and all sorts. In the end I had to get it cleaned professional and it came back lovely. It cost me about £30, however my best friends dad has a carpet shop so he arranged it for me.
