Cleaning Marmoleum

Apolgies for cross-posting -- I am copying this from a thread I started in Property and DIY because I thought there might be more people here with marmoleum floors who could advise.

We're about to order darkish green Marmoleum for the bathroom. I love it and am sure this is what we want. Can anyone tell me how much care it will need? I feel I should get a better understanding of how to look after it before I sign on the dotted line.

see here for tips

We had marmoleum in one of our forces married quarters and I remember there being a whole booklet about how to care for it.....I just used cap of bleach and water or fairy liquid and hot water. Our's was beige though so always looked dirty!

I think it'd be great in the bathroom and if you read the tips above, it doesn't seem that harsh.

I did really like the actaul covering though.

That's great, thanks Luciemule -- I hadn't found that page. Am really glad you liked it, I feel absurdly excited (partly just because we've finally made a decision) but I was worried someone would pop up on this thread and give me 1001 reasons not to get it!

I defo wouldn't recommend beige in a kitchen! But I'm sure dark green in a bathroom will be fine Smile

i love marmoleum and have it in the kitchen (black, with white and grey streaks - great for not showing dirt Grin) and bathroom (blue). i use either marmoleum branded cleaner, which you can get in john lewis (in the flooring bit not with the other cleaners) or ecover linseed floor soap.

Oh great, I didn't know Ecover made something. I like the sound of black white and grey Grin. I know I'm going to want it in the kitchen now.
