Hi everyone,

I am decorating my son's new bedroom. Have been looking into bright colourful flooring and the one I like the most its a synthetic carpet -Vorwek brand- Have any of you used it? Any advice? Yay or nay?

My instinct tells me to go for more natural flooring but our old carpet is quite dirrrty with calpol stains, pee stains etcc... the carpet salesman assures me that synthetic carpets clean very well..

Not sure what to do so I was wondering if you could provide with some advice.

Cheers!

I could not leave you here, all alone and carpetless.

I hated the synthetic carpet which we had in one let (poo brown fake corderoy) which needed hoovering every two minutes but it did scrub up well.

Someone told me to spray it at night with fabric softener in a plant spray bottle so it would not be so static. That worked quite well.

Pure wool carpets stain like crazy and an 80% wool 20% synthetic did not last well so imo yes go for synthetic.

We have synthetic carpet upstairs and is it brilliant. We have the same colour throughout - grey - it cleans brilliantly and is really good quality.

There is synthetic carpet and synthetic carpet though. Make sure its good quality, reasonably thick/dense etc. We got ours from the local crapet shop which as well as giving brilliant advice and having excellent choice, were waaay cheaper than the big companies like CarpetRight.

We went for it as our priority was getting the right colour and quality with an easy clean.
