Cushion novice

I've just bought our first ever new sofa

Because it's a sofa bed, it's pretty firm, and badly needs softening with cushions. But I can't find anything I like [because I'm being really difficult fussy]. The house is a rental, so the colour scheme is the dreadful magnolia walls, beige carpet.

I'm thinking that as it's such a plain sofa, the cushions need pattern/texture of some sort, but since they will be used for padding out the sofa, no sequins, beads or anything else uncomfortable. Also, because the sofa is so big, I'm thinking big cushions rather than little piddly things. Budget about £20 per cushion. Ideally would like something quite unusual/funky, and due to toddler/teenager combination, pale colours are out, and they need to be washable.

So, any suggestions?

i am rubbish at puuting stuff together, which is why i love ikea.. i copy the set-up show rooms. Did you see your sofa on display? did they put any funky cushions with it?

The one on display had cushions that matched the sofa exactly, which is a bit dull.

I love Ikea stuff, but was hoping to avoid the appearance that everything in the room came from them.
