Cheapest fuel tariffs

Not going to win the award for most exciting post here, but...

We are with British Gas, looking at their tariffs here and trying to decide whether to go for the online one, set monthly direct debit; or the one where you give regular meter readings and only use what you pay for.

I try to use as little as possible, avoid putting the heating on, encourage kids to do things that don't rely on electricity all the time.

So, really want the cheapest possible, but although the online one is the cheapest rate, in reality we may end up paying a smaller figure each month if I go for the one that's only based on what you use?

Sorry if this seems like a silly question, really not got a head for numbers and wondering if others can advise, and if you use either of these how much roughly you pay?

Thanks

I can't help you with numbers, but if you are going to switch, do it through a cashback site, where you could get up to £40 just for switching. Try Give or Take, they are good.

Thanks- is that switching suppliers? I'm just planning to switch tariff, stay with same supplier
