What's happened to all the feathers?

I had to wash my padded coat yesterday (small child, yoghurt incident).

I followed instructions but now it feels like the down feathers have miraculously disappeared!

What's happened to them?

They have shrunk because they are wet. When nearly dry put coat in the tumbler dryer and it should fluff up again

Most of the feathers really did disappear from my DD's M&S duvet. Never did find out what happenned to them.
