Start with the curtains. It is easier to match paint to the curtains rather than the other way around.

What about putting some cushions, candles and lamps in a plum colour. Lots of shops have this homeware in this colour scheme at the minute. You can then keep your couch, floor and curtains in neutral shades.

I have similar, dark sofas dark floor. My curtains are hessian with green and brown bands at top. My rug is sage green. One wall behind dining table sage green then other walls hessian.

I then have deep purple floor lamp and purple and green cushions on sofa. The purple works well with the green and helps tie in the rest of the downstairs. Kitchen is all white units and tiles, dark walnut counters and deep purple walls.

I have a dark brown sofa. Dark oatmeal carpet. I have a lovely bronze tiffany lamp that gives a lovely glow. Then dark gold cushions matched with burgundy/gold cushions.

Quite Nouveau in design. The gold is warming yet suits all year all round. Then Linen/oatmeal/ burgundy stripe roman blind. To tie in with sofa.

I also have a long footstool covered in a dark swirly burgundy.
